From SeafoodMedia news, Norway exported 17.3 billion Norwegian kroner worth of seafood in November, an increase of 1 billion Norwegian kroner, or 6%.
Compared to previous years, the weak Norwegian krone has not boosted seafood export earnings, and the global aquaculture industry costs are rising and competition is intensifying.
Norwegian seafood exports to China amounted to NOK 10 billion in November, with strong exports of cold water shrimp and salmon.
So far this year, Norway has exported NOK 160.4 billion worth of seafood, an increase of NOK 2.3 billion, or 1.5 percent, over the same period last year.
Salmon, herring and mackerel are the three fish species that have contributed to the increase in exports so far this year.
The largest markets for Norwegian seafood exports in November were Poland, the United States and the Netherlands, where exports to the Netherlands rose by NOK 174 million, or 17 per cent, and to which 15,908 tons were exported, an increase of 10 per cent year-on-year.
