On December 10, 2024, the State Food Safety and Consumer Service of Ukraine informed that the information on the labels of alcoholic beverages should contain content mainly:
(1) The common name of the alcoholic beverage or the official name of the alcoholic beverage, the proprietary name of the product;
(2) The name and location of the food market operator responsible for providing information on alcoholic beverages, as well as the name and location of the importer of alcoholic beverages imported into the customs territory of Ukraine;
(3) Trademark (determined by the food market operator (manufacturer));
(4) Country of origin or place of origin - in cases provided for by the legislation of Ukraine “to provide consumers with information about food products”.
(5) Alcohol content (% ethanol by volume);
(6) Volume of dishes;
(7) sugar content (for alcoholic beverages produced in Ukraine for domestic consumption, the requirement to indicate the sugar content is set out in the manufacturer's special specifications and technical documents)
(8) Presence of flavoring agents, dyes (if used);
(9) the year of grape harvest in which the vintage wine was produced (except for alcoholic beverages imported into the Customs Territory of Ukraine). In addition, according to the Rules of Retail Trade in Alcoholic Beverages, it is not permitted to sell bottled (other containers) wine that is unlabeled, without visible markings, with signs of damage (cracks, broken necks, broken caps, etc.), with the presence of foreign suspended particles or turbidity, sediment in loosely sealed bottles (except for collector's and aged wines), and that has expired.
