On June 4, 2018, China Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs published the draft of the national food safety standards including the maximum residue limits for pesticides and detection methods for pesticide residue. These include 51 pesticides such as abamectin in foods, and 74 pesticides such as 2,4-D butyric acid in foods, and HPLC determination of quinoline residues in plant-derived foods. "Consultation Draft" and other four test methods. The deadline for soliciting comments is June 30, 2018.

On June 5, 2018, The State Council issued a decision on the questions about adjustment executive duties of the administrative regulations involving the State Council institutional reform. It clarifies the responsibilities between the original administrative agencies and the administrative agencies that have been established or assigned to responsibilities in the process of institutional reform and adjustment. It also requested that the relevant administrative regulations should be formulated, amended or repealed as soon as possible, and the relevant departmental regulations and normative documents should be amended or repealed.   

On June 7, 2018, China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment solicited public opinions on 8 new varieties of food additive, Among them, the new food additive varieties include Sanzan gum, the food additive varieties to be expanded use scope include propylene glycol, potassium aluminium sulfate (potassium alum), single octylic acid glyceride, soluble soybean polysaccharides, red pepper, chili oil resin, potassium sorbate. Among them, the deadline for solicitation of propylene glycol and potassium aluminum sulfate ( potassium alum) is July 6, 2018, and the other deadline for solicitation is June 30, 2018.
