New Zealand solicits feedback on 3 proposed wine regulations
On August 6, 2021, the New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) solicited feedback on 3 proposed wine regulations. The feedback period ends on September 20, 2021. The 3 notices are:
1. "Good Manufacturing Practice for Wine": This proposed notice includes requirements for clean water testing, commodity supply and winemaking process, because it applies to wine business operators and commodity suppliers;
2. "Requirements for wine accreditation bodies and personnel": Including requirements for accreditation bodies, personnel and laboratories. Including requirements for wine inspectors and appraisers to participate in the continuous professional development (CPD) program, and to report the verification results electronically through MPI's online system;
3. "Wine Export Requirements and Exemptions": including the requirements of New Zealand wine export approval. It stipulates the way to prove that the exported wine has no obvious defects.
