China total export volume of confectionery products ranks second in the world in 2020
Sputniknews report on August 31, According to a report released by the Russian Agricultural Products Export Center, China’s exports of confectionery products in 2020 totaled 868.8 million US dollars, accounting for 8.1% of the global total, ranking second in the world
Confectionery products include candy, caramel, toffee, crystal soft candy, marshmallow, chewing gum, nougat, etc.
The total export volume of China's confectionery products has maintained an annual growth from 2016 to 2019, from US$847.2 million to US$988 million.
In 2020, China's export volume of confectionery products dropped from 340,700 tons to 292,900 tons.
The country with the largest export volume of confectionery products in 2020 is Germany, with a total export volume of US$1.3125 billion.
Other major exporters of confectionery products are Mexico, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Turkey, Poland, the United States, and Canada.
Russia ranks 14th in the list of exporters of confectionery products (exports amounted to 178.6 million US dollars, exports of 91,700 tons, accounting for 2.6% of the global total).
The total export of confectionery products in 2020 is 10.7 billion U.S. dollars (11.678 billion U.S. dollars in 2019).
Countries in the Asia-Pacific region have the largest market share of confectionery products, with a total market of $17.3 billion in 2020, accounting for 32.3% of the global market.
