On October 29, 2021, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) updated the list of meat factories approved to export to China, which including 2 pork companies and 2 beef companies.
After this update, the United States has invested a total of 285 beef export factories and 234 pork export factories to China. Since the beginning of this year, GACC has added five batches of American meat factories, involving 27 beef factories. As the number of factories exported to China continues to increase, China's beef imports from the United States have also skyrocketed.
According to data, from January to September, China mainland imported 99,000 tons of beef from the United States, more than 7 times to the same period last year, accounting for 6% of China's total beef imports during the same period.
