Russian meat products exporters plan to enter Hong Kong market
According to Sputniknews, on January 14. Ekaterina Luchkina, executive director of the Russian National Union of Meat Processors, told that Russian meat products exporters intend to enter the Hong Kong market.
The total value of meat products exported by Russia in 2021 is 109 million US dollars, with an increase of 27% to 48,000 tonnes. In 2021, the number of purchasing countries for Russian meat filling products increased to 47.
At present, the largest buyers of Russian meat filling products are Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Abkhazia and Kyrgyzstan. Ekaterina Luchkina said that Russian exporters have a successful case of entering the markets of countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
In 2021, Russia exported meat products to Vietnam (28 tons, $240,000), Mongolia (13 tons, $61,000), and Japan (12 tons, $57,000). "There is certainly an opportunity to increase the export of Russian meat filling products. At present, Russian exporters are looking into organizing supplies to Hong Kong," she said.
