On 11 April 2022, the Food Authority of Singapore (SFA) announced the suspension on imports of poultry and poultry products from the vicinity of the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) outbreak in the United States. Singapore will impose temporary restrictions on imports of poultry and poultry products from areas locate within 10 km from 21 us counties affected by highly pathogenic H5 avian influenza. Poultry products that meet the requirements of heat treatment for inactivation of avian influenza viruses by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) will not be affected by the import restrictions.

Poultry exported from the affected areas will continue to be accepted for import if they meet the slaughter and export dates.
