CFS of Hong Kong(China) Suspends Import of Poultry Meat and Products from Parts of Portugal, Germany, Netherlands, USA, France, and Denmark
The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department of Hong Kong announced on November 18 that in response to notifications from the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) concerning outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5 avian influenza in the Porto District of Portugal, and highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in parts of Germany, the Netherlands, the USA, France, and Denmark, the Centre has immediately instructed the trade to suspend the import of poultry meat and poultry products (including poultry eggs) from the affected areas to protect public health in Hong Kong.
