Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has recently rejected imports of food products, including apples, nuts, alcoholic beverages and nori, from China, Japan, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Bangladesh for failing to meet food safety and quality standards.
According to India Today reported on the 26th, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India announced the above information through its recently launched imported food rejection alert client. According to India's Food Safety and Standards Regulations (imports), the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has the power to issue food safety alert notices, and in May this year, cinnamon buds from Sri Lanka were rejected because they did not have prior approval. In addition, a non-alcoholic beer from China was rejected in May this year for exceeding PH levels, and a tea bag from Japan was rejected in June for containing ingredients not approved in India. In addition, fresh red apples from Turkey were rejected in July because their shelf life was too short.
According to India Today, the reasons for food being rejected include safety risks, health hazards, unqualified labels, incomplete materials, safety risks including the presence of pests and heavy metals, and health hazards including humidity and fat content.
