On September 20, 2022, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued Notice 2022-19022, amending the product classification regulations for pesticide residue limits. The main contents include:

(1) the grouping of legume vegetables (i.e., crop 6 group) was revised to include 8 new products such as Africanyambean, Sphenostylisstenocarpa (Hochst. exA.Rich.), which increased the number of legume vegetables included in the grouping to 121. At the same time, the number of subgroups under this group will be increased from 3 to 6, so as to define and classify products more clearly and accurately.

(2) The grain group (crop group 15) was revised, and 24 cereal crops such as tartarybuckwheat and Job'stears were added, which increased the number of cereal varieties included in this group to 60. At the same time, 6 subgroups were created under this group.

The notice will be officially published in the Federal Register on September 21, 2022 and will become effective 60 days after the date of publication.
