On 20 September 2022, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) updated their food labeling requirements with the following:

(1) Updated "Requirements for business name and address on packaging or food labels of pre-packaged foods" and "Requirements for Brexit label changes";

(2) Updated requirements for origin marking for beef, veal and ground meat (goats, sheep, pigs and poultry);

(3) Updated the requirements of origin labeling for the "transitional period" of honey labeling;

(4) Updated labeling guidelines for blended pure olive oil.

The above update is effective from 1 January 2024.
