October 10, 2022, Indonesia issued draft regulations for the registration of processed foods.
The draft mainly contains the following provisions:
1. New registration requirements for low, medium and high risk processed foods;
2. New registration of processed foods produced by companies in multiple production methods;
3. New registration of similar processed foods;
4. Change of registration;
5. Registration fees and other content.
When the regulation came into force, the Food and Drug Administration No. 27 of 2017 on the Registration of Processed Food and the Amendment to the Provisions on the Registration of Processed Food amended by the Food and Drug Administration No. 7 of 2021 were revoked and declared invalid. The regulations shall go into effect on the date of promulgation.
