On 17 November 2022, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs revised the requirements for issuing phytosanitary certificates for products such as vegetables imported from non-EU countries. The major revisions are as follows:

(1) The section "Obtaining a Phytosanitary Certificate (PC)" has been updated to delete the specific requirement "The certificate must be signed by a person of the inspecting plant health institution within 14 days prior to the shipment of the goods from the country or region where the product is located.";

(2) Added a requirement that the phytosanitary certificate must be issued within 14 days before shipment from the exporting country.

The revision will take effect as of the date of publication.
