On 22 November 2022, the website of the Swiss Federal Register published Notice No. 693, amending the regulations on the use of food origin marks. The main content is to amend the annex 1 of the Regulation (the list of foods for which the use of Swiss food origin labeling is permitted and prohibited) to include foods for which Switzerland is not self-sufficient or has a low self-sufficiency rate, such as chickpeas, nuts, cocoa, coffee, black tea and some aquatic products in the list of foods for which the use of Swiss food origin labeling is prohibited.

The amendment will take effect from January 1, 2023.
