South Korea issued a partial revision of the Labeling Standards for Food, etc. to formulate labeling standards without salt

On December 14, the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) issued Notice No. 2022-86, revising part of the "Food Labeling Standards", the main contents of which are as follows:


1. Alcoholic products (except alcohol) is not a product that is required to display nutritional information, and only allowed to display calories.

2. Formulate labeling standards for no added sodium and no added salt.

3. Revise the allowable error range for the content of nutrients in foods below a specific standard and the allowable error range for sodium in cabbage kimchi.
