According to the Official Journal of the European Union, on January 6, 2023, the European Commission issued Regulation (EU) No. 2023/58, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 2015/2283 of the European Parliament and of the European Council, approving the frozen, paste, dried and powder forms of Alphitobius diaperinus larvae are placed on the market as new type of food, and the annex to European Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/2470 is amended concerning the requirements for the use of new types of food.

The Regulation shall come into effect on the 20th day from the date of promulgation.
