Fruit export is an important part of Malaysia's agricultural product export, among which durian and MD2 pineapple are particularly prominent in the Chinese market. Recently, the Malaysian Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) stated that in 2023, it will focus on promoting fruit exports to major countries such as China, Australia, and New Zealand.

Other tropical fruits abundant in Malaysia, such as jackfruit, papaya, watermelon, banana, mango, mangosteen and rambutan also have huge export potential, mainly exported to China, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, the Middle East, Europe and the United States.

MAFS revealed that the draft protocol on the export of Malaysian jackfruit to China has entered the final stage and is waiting for the final signature of both parties. At the same time, Malaysia is also expanding the scale of mangosteen planting in various places to ensure sufficient supply after obtaining access to Australia.
