On April 12, 2023, the Vietnam Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Quality Assurance Department issued a draft national standard for frozen tuna. The standard applies to frozen yellowfin tuna (Thunus albacares) and bigeye tuna (Thunnus obesus) products, whether ready-to-eat or not. The main content includes term definitions, raw material requirements, sensory requirements, safety and health requirements including heavy metals and other indicators, storage requirements (below -18°C) and related testing methods.
