Sweden released 2022 food safety control report

On June 30, 2023, the Swedish National Food Agency (NFA) released the 2022 Food Safety Control Report. The main contents include:


1. In terms of animal slaughter control, about 120 million carcasses were inspected, of which about 550,000 poultry were unqualified, and another 3 million poultry were considered unfit for consumption after slaughter;


2. about 100,000 inspections were carried out on the control of food enterprises involved in manufacturing, distribution and sale to consumers, and 38% of the inspections were unqualified, including whether candy, ice cream, soft drinks and similar beverages mainly aimed at children contained Higher percentage of non-compliance in approved coloring substances and sweetener additives;


3. In terms of imported food control, about 10,500 batches of imported food were inspected, and 156 batches were unqualified, including salmonella detected in small shrimps from China, salmonella detected in sesame seeds from India, and excessive mycotoxins detected in figs from Turkey.
