On April 13, the South Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) issued Notice No. 2023-370, which proposes to amend part of the Codex of Healthy Functional Foods, the main contents of which are as follows:

1. Modify the precautions and specifications of 9 functional raw materials such as coenzyme Q10 when eating.

2. Adopt the latest technology to produce products that can adjust the dissolution rate, and set the shape of the product according to the characteristics of disintegration.

3. Modify the production standard of aloe gel: the raw material of aloe gel is made into non-dry powder form.

4. New conversion coefficient and daily intake unit of folic acid are set.

5. Modify the general test method.

The above comments will be solicited until September 25, 2023.
