The price of Ecuadorian shrimp exported to China has recently begun to rise

In the past few weeks, the price of raw shrimp in Ecuador has started to rise due to fears of a shortage of shrimp products, prompting processing plants to raise prices for the Chinese market.

Chinese buyers have accepted the price increase, and Ecuador's export orders to China have not decreased.

While many Chinese buyers believe current prices will stabilize and will not support another increase, Ecuadorian exporters are still trying to raise prices. What happens to prices in the coming weeks will depend on how the balance is struck between buyers and sellers.

Some in the industry see the rebound in Ecuador's shrimp prices as a sign of economic recovery, and given other potential complexities, caution is warranted and predicting future price movements is challenging.
