On August 6, the General Administration of Customs of China issued Announcement No. 97 of 2023, announcing that from now on, Indonesian tabasheer that meet the relevant requirements will be allowed to import.
The tabasheer in this announcement refers to the dried mass of the internal secretion of Bambusa textilis or Schizostachyum chinense, etc. from the Indonesian gramineous plant, which is not directly for human consumption.
The processing enterprises of tabasheer exported to China shall be reviewed and filed with the Agricultural Quarantine Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia (hereinafter referred to as the "Indonesian side"), and approved for registration by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the "Chinese side"). Registration information should include name, address and registration number. Before the trade begins, the Indonesian side shall provide the Chinese side with the list of registered enterprises. After approval by the Chinese side, the Chinese side will publish it on the website of the General Administration of Customs.
At the same time, the announcement also details the relevant requirements for imports, including production and processing requirements, packaging and transportation requirements, and plant quarantine certificate requirements.
