Russia decided to implement enhanced laboratory testing on aquatic products imported from Japan

The official website of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision on August 24: Due to the discharge of nuclear-contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan, the Bureau has decided to take enhanced laboratory testing measures for aquatic products and their products imported from Japan from now on.

 

The main indicator of Russian official testing is the limit of radionuclides in aquatic products. If the limit is exceeded, the product will be banned from exporting to Russia.

 

The share of Japanese aquatic products in the Russian market is relatively low.
