US issued a standard for frozen mixed vegetables

On September 21, 2023, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued a standard for frozen mixed vegetables (whole green beans, broccoli, carrot slices), which will be implemented from the date of publication. The main contents are as follows:

 

(1) Green beans, broccoli, carrots size and individual weight requirements, must meet the United States grade standards, do not add salt; The product mixture can not stick together and has good fluidity; With broccoli, carrot and green bean characteristics, bright color;

 

(2) The test for peroxidase was negative using the official USDA test method. The test frequency is twice per batch. Test reports may be provided by suppliers, third parties, or by USDA National science Laboratories;

 

(3) Packaging and labeling. Labels must contain at least two other colors, except black and white; Must include a graphic (photo or illustration) depicting the product, if the package is not clear, the product content must be displayed on the front of the package; Plastic bag packaging must be heat-sealed to maintain the integrity of the seal.
