On 5 October 2023, according to the official website of the South Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS), Yantai Lanbai Foods Co., Ltd, which is represented by Foodmate, has been successfully approved to register as an overseas food manufacturer in South Korea, and the registered products include steamed buns, congee, frozen dumplings, frozen other rice and noodle products, etc., with the validity period up to 4 October 2025.

According to the "Special Act on imported Food Safety Management" issued by South Korea in 2015, overseas manufacturers of imported food products must register with the MFDS prior to the import declaration, and manufacturers of meat, eggs, milk and other livestock products should register their overseas factories through the government of the exporting country. South Korea will not accept the import declaration of their products if they have not registered as overseas manufacturers or overseas factories.

The products covered by the overseas manufacturer registration include general food products (except livestock products), food additives, food contact materials, and health food products. Enterprises intending to export the above products to South Korea can register by themselves on the official website of the MFDS or register as an overseas manufacturer through a local importer.
