India issued a notice on the rectifiable labeling information for imported foods

On November 28, 2023, the Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) issued Notice TIC-B02/3/2023-importS-FSSAI, which is a notice of possible rectification of imported food labels. The main content is that, in addition to the following three circumstances, the imported food label unqualified can be corrected in the customs bonded warehouse label:

 

(1) The batch number, code or batch number is wrong;

 

(2) Incorrect date marking (date of manufacture or packaging, expiration date or best use date);

 

(3) The country of origin of imported food is wrong. only after the imported food labels have passed the inspection can sampling be carried out for inspection.

 

The notice shall take effect as of the date of promulgation.
