GACC Announcement No. 174 of 2023 (Announcement on Quarantine Requirements for Fresh Stone Fruit Plants Imported from Kazakhstan)

On December 1, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 174 of 2023, announcing that from now on, Kazakhstan fresh stone fruits that meet the relevant requirements will be allowed to import. Fresh stone fruits that are allowed to be imported include peaches and apricots.


Stone fruit orchards and packaging plants exported to China shall be reviewed and filed with the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as Kazakhstan) and approved for registration by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Chinese side). The registration information shall include name, address and registration number for accurate traceability in the event that the export goods do not comply with the relevant provisions of this Announcement. The registration list shall be provided by Kazakhstan to the Chinese side before the annual export season, and shall be published on the Chinese website after being examined and approved by the Chinese side.


At the same time, the announcement also details the relevant requirements for imports, including phytosanitary requirements, packaging and labeling requirements.
