On 21 December, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of Korea issued Announcement No. 2022-596, which proposes to establish part of the “Guidelines for Setting Residue Limits for Pesticides and Veterinary Drugs in Food”, with the following main content:

1. Define the terms "residue limit standards", "crop residue test materials" and "animal residue test materials".

2. Classify the application of pesticide and veterinary drug residue limit standards into imported food and Korean food.

3. Stipulate the procedures for applying for the establishment of and changing the standards for pesticide and veterinary drug residue limits in food, the scientific materials to be submitted, and the official management organisations.

The consultation period ends on 10 January 2024 for the above opinions.
