South Korea issued a partial amendment to the Special Law on the Safety Management of Imported Food

On January 2, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) issued a partial amendment to the Special Law on import Food Safety Management, the main contents of which are as follows:

 

The amount of fines that the MFDS can impose on sellers of harmful imported food will be increased from the previous amount of sales of imported food to less than twice the amount of sales of imported food, and the content, extent, time, and number of violations will be taken into account when imposing fines.

 

The implementation date of the above is July 3, 2024.
