It is reported on 4 January that the State Secretariat for Agriculture of the Ministry of Economy has announced an extension of the exemption of all dairy products from customs duties until 30 June 2024, in accordance with Decree 9/2024, which extends the exemption of 9% of milk and 4% of cheese products from customs duties.

The policy extends the decree issued by the previous government on 3 October 2023, which exempted milk from the 9% export tax and cheese products from the 4.5% export tax, in order to enhance the competitiveness of Arab dairy exports, the report said. In addition, the decree also temporarily cancelled the export tax rebate on dairy products.
