On April 6, 2024, the Turkish Government Gazette published Notice No. 32512 amending the Turkish Codex Alimentarius - Food Labeling Regulations. Major revisions include:

(1) If the food contains ingredients of pig origin, the description "This ingredient is from pig" should be marked in the main field of view of the product label display;

(2) If alcohol, food sweetener or exogenous sugar is artificially added to the food, it should be highlighted on the food label by changing the font, size, color, height, etc.;

(3) The value of the nutrient content in the food nutrition label should be marked in a rounded way;

(4) If the font, height, style, etc. of the information on the food label are the same, and there is a clear contrast with the background, the food name is allowed not to be marked on the main display page.

The amendment takes effect from the date of publication with a transition period until December 31, 2026.
