On 8 May 2024, the Official Journal of the European Union published a Corrigendum to the Directive on the definition, description, presentation and labelling of spirit drinks under Regulation (EU) 2019/787. Major corrections include:

(1) Corrected "Cognac may be placed on the market as Cognac or Cognac" to "Cognac may be placed on the market as Cognac or eau-de-vie de Cognac" in the permitted label example table in column 2 on page 9;

(2) "Typical examples of alcoholic beverages other than spirits" on page 27, column 27, and "typical examples of prohibited alcoholic beverages other than spirits" on page 28, column 28, are corrected to read "typical examples of permitted alcoholic beverages other than spirits" and "typical examples of prohibited alcoholic beverages other than spirits" respectively;

(3) Some formats have been adjusted.
