Australia issued importer declaration verification for cheese and ready-to-eat aquatic products and duck meat

On 29 July 2024, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry issued import Notice IFN05/24 to verify importer declarations for the import of cheese and ready-to-eat aquatic products and duck meat, effective from the date of publication. Main contents:


(1) Verify that the importer of cheese made from unpasteurized milk provides a mandatory declaration of requirements to prove that adequate heat treatment has been performed during the production process;


(2) Verify the importer's declaration to prove that Listeria monocytogenes < 100cfu/gm is present in cheese and ready-to-eat aquatic products and duck meat.
