GAC approved the import of fruits from Indonesia, Malaysia and Uzbekistan



On May 30, 2019, the General Administration of Customs issued several announcements to allow Indonesian mangosteen ([2019] No.94), Malaysian frozen durian ([2019] No.95), and Uzbekistan fresh cherry ([2019] No.96) to be imported. According to the list issued by the GAC on April 9, 2019, up to now, a total of 43 countries and regions have obtained China's inspection and quarantine approval.



GAC & MOA jointly issued import ban on sheep and goat from Kazakhstan



Kazakhstan notified the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) that there was a sheep and goat pox outbreak on May 4, 2019. In order to protect the safety of China's animal husbandry and prevent the epidemic, according to the Customs Law of the People's Republic of China, the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Entry and Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine and other relevant laws and regulations, the General Administration of Customs and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs jointly announced on May 24, 2019 ([2019] No.97), prohibiting the direct or indirect importing of sheep, goats and their products from Kazakhstan. The announcement will be implemented as of the date of publication.


GAC approved the import of fruits from Kenya



On June 5, 2019, the General Administration of Customs issued an announcement to allow Kenyan frozen avocado ([2019] No.98) to be imported into China. Related inspection and quarantine requirements can be found on the website of GAC or contact us for consultation.


GAC lifted the risk warning of foot-and-mouth disease in parts of Russia ([2019] No.99) 



On May 30, 2019, according to the result of risk analysis, the General Administration of Customs recognized 48 areas in Russia as non-immune, foot-and-mouth disease free areas. The qualified cloven hoofed animals and related products in compliance with Chinese laws & regulations could be imported into China. The relevant provisions of the above-mentioned areas in risk warning notice No.6 [2017] issued by former AQSIQ were abolished at the same time.
