Food Safety Committee of the State Council Issued the Major Working Arrangements for Food Safety in 2019

On June 14, 2019, the Food Safety Committee of the State Council issued a notice on Major Working Arrangements for Food Safety in 2019 (Food Safety Committee [2019] No. 2), which clearly stated implementing the ‘National Gate Guard’ action for imported food, continuing to promote the import and Export Food Safety Project, strictly cracking down on food smuggling, preventing imported food safety risks. The arrangements will also promote the construction of credit system, incorporating import and export food enterprises into the credit system built by the Customs, jointly punishing entities which have serious discredit problems.


SAMR Solicited Public Opinions on Hygienic and Physiochemical Inspection Specifications for Health Food (Draft)

In order to speed up the development and revision of the Technical Specifications for Health Food Inspection and evaluation, on June 14, 2019, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) issued the notice of Hygienic and Physicochemical Inspection Specifications for Health Food (Draft for Comment) and solicited opinions from the public. The deadline for solicitation is July 10, 2019.



SAMR Solicited Public Opinions on Technical Guidelines for Clinical Trial of Full Nutritional Formula Food for Diabetics and other FSMPs

In order to standardise the clinical trial work of food for special medical purposes (FSMP) and to guide the applicants to carry out clinical trials of FSMPs scientifically and effectively, on June 14, 2019, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) issued the notices of Technical Guidelines for Clinical Trial of Full Nutritional Formula Food for Diabetics (Draft for Comment), Technical Guidelines for Clinical Trial of Full Nutritional Formula Food for Kidney Diseases Patients (Draft for Comment) and Technical Guidelines for Clinical Trial of Full Nutritional Formula Food for Cancer Patients (Draft for Comment) and solicited opinions from the public. The deadline for solicitation is July 15, 2019.
