In the second quarter of 2019, the Sated Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) completed and published 635,151 batches of food (including health foods and food additives) sampling, of which, 619,591 batches were founded to be qualified and 15,560 batches were unqualified. The average unqualified rate was 2.4%, decreased 0.01% from the same period in 2018.
The unqualified rate of bulk foods was basically the same as that of the same period of 2018. The unqualified rates of food processed products, meat products, egg products, dairy products, edible oils, oils and their products were 1.2%, 1.8%, 0.3%, 0.2% and 1.2% respectively, lower than the average unqualified rate.
The main unqualified items are, excessive use of food additives, excessive residues of agricultural and veterinary drugs and microbial contamination, which accounted for 25.6%, 25.1% and 22.3% respectively.
