Announcement of the State Administration for Market Regulation on the Analysis of the Sampling Inspection of Food Safety Supervision in the First Half of 2020 (No. 18 of 2020)

 
In the first half of 2020, the national market supervision system completed a total of 1,380,697 batches of food safety supervision and sampling. According to relevant national food safety standards, 29,153 batches of unqualified samples were detected. The overall unqualified rate was 2.11%, a decrease of 0.25 percentage points year-on-year.

From the perspective of food sampling varieties, the unqualified rates of sampling inspection of edible agricultural products, processed food products, edible oils, fats and their products, meat products, egg products, and dairy products with high consumption are 2.07%, 1.48%, 1.40%, 1.32%, 0.36%, 0.14% respectively. Compared with the same period of last year, the unqualified rate of 24 categories of foods such as convenience foods and vegetable products has decreased. Among them, the unqualified rate of sampling inspection of convenience foods and vegetable products decreased by 3.99% and 2.52%. The unqualified rate of 9 categories of foods such as bee products slightly Increase (see the attachment for the results of various food supervision and random inspections).

Judging from the categories of unqualified items detected, excessive pesticide and veterinary drug residues, excessive use of food additives and microbial contamination accounted for 36.42%, 20.03%, and 18.78% of the total amount of unqualified samples. The quality index was not up to standard. It accounted for 7.77% of the total unqualified samples; the pollution of heavy metals and other elements accounted for 6.18% of the total unqualified samples; the organic matter pollution accounted for 5.26% of the total unqualified samples.

Regarding the unqualified samples detected, the territorial market supervision department has urged relevant production and operation enterprises to remove the shelves and recall them, strictly control the risk of unqualified batches of products detected, and promptly announce to the public the results of supervision and sampling and verification and disposal information in accordance with relevant regulations.
