Summary| In the third quarter of 2020, SAMR announced 73 batches of unqualified foods, a year-on-year decrease of 22.3%

 

Foodmate News: In accordance with the notices of unqualified food issued by State Administration for Market Regulation of China (SAMR), foodmate summarized the sampling data of the third quarter of 2020. According to statistics, from July to September 2020, SAMR released 9 food sampling inspections, and a total of 73 batches of unqualified foods were announced, which decrease 22.3% year-on-year.

Statistics show that the number of unqualified foods announced in July was the largest, with 29 batches; in August, 18 batches of unqualified foods were announced; and 26 batches of unqualified foods were announced in September.


The most unqualified samples involve 18 major types are edible agricultural products

In terms of categories, unqualified samples involve 18 categories of foods including health foods, biscuits, tea and related products, roasted seeds and nuts products, starch and starch products, convenience foods, bee products, pastries, wines, meat products, sugar, edible agricultural products, edible oils, fats and their products, potatoes and puffed foods, aquatic products, fruit products, special dietary foods, and condiments. Among them, edible agricultural products and pastries have the largest number of unqualified samples, with 13 batches each.

Statistics also show that the problems of these samples are mainly concentrated in five aspects: microbial contamination, pesticide residues, substandard quality indicators, heavy metal contamination, and food additives. In addition, there are still a small number of foods that have problems such as organic contamination detected, inconsistent quality indicators and label values, other pollutants exceeding the standard, and non-edible substances detected. Among them, the most unqualified samples with microbial contamination were detected, with 34 batches, accounting for 46.6% of all unqualified samples.

Statistics also show that the problems of these samples are mainly concentrated in five aspects: microbial contamination, pesticide residues, substandard quality indicators, heavy metal contamination, and food additives. In addition, there are still a small number of foods that have problems such as organic contamination detected, inconsistent quality indicators and label values, other pollutants exceeding the standard, and non-edible substances detected. Among them, the most unqualified samples with microbial contamination were detected, with 34 batches, accounting for 46.6% of all unqualified samples.

For unqualified foods found in random inspections, SAMR has instructed relevant provincial market supervision departments to immediately organize inspections and disposals, find out the flow of products, and take measures such as removing unqualified products from shelves to control risks.
