South Korea releases the draft of some amendments to the"Standards, Specifications and Labeling Standards for Drinking Spring Water"
On November 6, according to Korean media reports, South Korean Ministry of Environment issued a draft of "Standards, Specifications and Labeling Standards for Drinking Spring Water" for comments. The main amendments include:
In order to improve the recycling rate of plastics and reduce the amount of pollutants, drinking water label can be marked on the container or bottle cap. For the inner packaging product, if the label is marked on the inner packaging surface, the product does not need to be affixed to the label.
The marked items of drinking spring water are separately marked on the main display panel and the separate zone, but if part of the marked items in the separate zone is marked on the main display, the marked items can be omitted.
For large-volume drinking spring water products, which is more than 10L, the label can be pasted on the bottleneck.
The deadline for soliciting opinions above is until November 26, 2020.
