Netherlands expects to renew its health certificate as soon as possible to resume trade with China

From Intrafish Nov. 5 news, since China Customs refers to the cold frozen fish found COVID-19 product virus remaining, the Chinese government has strengthened all imported seafood in the regulations document examination as well as imported goods detection .

Last Friday (October 23), the Dutch government decided to suspend the issuance of health certifications to seafood exported to China, on the grounds that the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention had isolated live new coronaviruses on the outer packaging of imported frozen cod, and some products had been printed with the Netherlands. Export health certification.

The Netherlands expects to resume exports to China earlier this week by making necessary changes to the health certificate.

In a new report sent to member states on October 30, the Dutch Fish Federation (Visfederatie) pointed out that exports to China are expected to resume as soon as possible in the week of November 1.

Since October 23, Dutch traders will not be able to purchase non-fresh fish, crustaceans and soft seafood exported to China because the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) has not issued sanitation certificates for these third countries. NVWA stated that the changes to the certificates are expected to be carried out early this week, and once adjusted, these certificates can be applied for again.

According to the current situation, the revised certificate will be ready for use this week, and exports to China will be able to start again.

In 2019, the Netherlands exported approximately 262 million euros of seafood to China, a year-on-year increase of more than 50%, making it the most valuable destination for its products outside the EU.
