New Zealand MPI lifts alarm on shellfish biotoxins on west coast of North Island

2020 November 12, the New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) canceled on the west coast of the North Island from the collection of shellfish public health warnings.

The warning is from Waipapakauri in the North Island, 90 miles south of the beach, and extends to the sea at Pouto Point, the northern end of Kaipara Harbor. Further sampling of the coastal shellfish of the coastline indicated that the paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP) toxin is now at a safe level.
