Thailand continues to impose temporary import ban on poultry or poultry meat from China
On January 26, 2021, the Department of Animal Husbandry Development of Thailand issued an announcement, according to the World Health Organization report that China has an outbreak of severe avian influenza (HPAI) of the H5N6 and H5N1 serotypes. To prevent the spread of the disease, the import or transshipment of poultry and poultry meat from China will be delayed .
However, it does not include poultry skins from production sites certified by the Ministry of Animal Husbandry and recommended by the World Organization for Animal Health to remove avian influenza pathogens, choose one of the following methods:
1. Wash and dry for 30 minutes at 100 degrees Celsius;
2. Smoked in formalin (10% formaldehyde) for eight hours;
3. Irradiate 20kGy.
The announcement is valid for 90 days.
