Eurasian Economic Union re-examines beef import regulations
Kazakh News Agency, Moscow, February 1, Eurasian Economic Commission Trade Commissioner (Ministerial) Srepnev said that the Eurasian Economic Commission will start to adjust the Eurasian Economic Union beef import regulations.
Srepnev said that the beef import issue is very sensitive. In recent years, the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union have made great achievements in the agricultural sector, especially in the livestock sector. The Eurasian Economic Commission will re-enact beef import regulations to ensure compliance with WTO regulations, and ensure the stability of consumer product prices, fully consider the predictability of such decisions. The Eurasian Economic Commission will issue favorable solutions to lay a solid foundation for the long-term development of the alliance's livestock industry, especially the meat breeding industry.
Regarding Russia and Kazakhstan’s issue of imposing zero tariffs on titanium scrap, Srepnev said that this will help alliance companies increase production capacity, and the Eurasian Economic Commission supports this.
