South Korea releases draft of partial amendments to the "Law on the Implementation of the Animal Product Hygiene Management Act"
On February 26, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea issued Announcement No. 2021-83, which intends to amend part of the "Law for the Implementation of the Animal Product Hygiene Management Act". The main contents are as follows:
1. Add meat simple cooking courses to the types of meat processed products processed with meat as raw materials, and determine the business scope of meat simple cooking courses consisting of agricultural and fishery products and processed foods.
2. Authorize to the local Food and Drug Safety Agency the authority to investigate and evaluate whether the livestock product processing industry, cooking and meat packaging processing industries that require safety management certification comply with safety management certification standards.
The time for the above comments to be collected is until April 7, 2020.
