Japan releases amendments to "Specifications and Standards for Food, Additives, etc." (Pesticide and Veterinary Drug Residues)
On March 26, 2021, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan issued Notice No. 4 of 0326,which partially revised the "Specifications and Standards for Food, Additives". The main modifications are as follows:
1. Modify or set the residue limits of six pesticides and veterinary drugs in foods. including oxazosulfyl, badam, insecticidal, insectsulfur, tidiluoxin, pentamidine, Jasmonone and flometoquin in food standards.
2. Applicable date: This notice will come into effect on the date of issuance, but the residues limits of pesticide and veterinary drug in some foods can still be applied to previous regulations within 1 year from the date of this notice.
