Japan updates the animal products allowed to be imported and the countries where they are produced


On April 1, 2021, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan issued a draft to amend "Countries, regions or facilities designated by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare in accordance with Article 11 Paragraph 1 of the Food Sanitation Law", it says only food imported from countries, regions or facilities designated by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare can be sold in Japan. This revision intends to add some countries, regions or facilities designated by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
The main contents of this revision are:

1.Beef, buffalo and gut:
(1)Newly added buffalo and gut
(2) Newly added 13 countries, regions or facilities including China, Taiwan, Iceland, and Norway etc.

2. Horse meat and gut: Newly added 26 countries, regions or facilities including China, Iceland, Ireland, and South Korea etc.

3. Pork and gut: Newly added 12 countries, regions or facilities including China, Taiwan, Iceland, and South Korea etc.

4. Goat or sheep meat and gut: Newly added 11 countries, regions or facilities including China, Iceland, Norway, and the Philippines etc.

5. Poultry meat and gut: Newly added 12 countries, regions or facilities including China, Taiwan and South Korea etc.
