South Korea will adopt electronic sampling certificate for imported food inspection
On April 23, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea announced that starting from May 2021, the currently issued "paper-based sampling certificate" will be replaced with an "electronic sampling certificate."
Sampling certificates are certificates for the collection and distribution of the number of products that need to be inspected in the storage warehouses for imported food and other items by public servants of the Korean Food and Drug Administration.
The method of issuance of the electronic sampling certificate is that when the imported product inspector performs sampling inspection on the product, he confirms the sampling information and signs on the tablet, and the person in charge of the warehouse or the importer will receive the electronic sampling certificate file (link) sent by mobile phone information.
The electronic sampling certificate will be issued by the Jingren Local Food and Drug Administration (import Management Division and 7 inspection stations) before the import declaration acceptance in May 2021, the issuance of all local Food and Drug Administrations (5 departments and 17 inspection offices) will be completed in 2022.
