CAC recommends limits on cadmium in chocolate
On May 13, 2021, the Codex Alimentarius Commission recommended a new maximum limit value for cadmium in chocolate.
For chocolates with 30% or less cocoa solids, the cadmium content is limited to 0.3mg/kg; for chocolates with 30%-50% cocoa solids, the cadmium content is limited to 0.7mg/kg.
