EU Issued Regulations on the Performance of Analytical Methods for Residues of Pharmacologically Active Substances Used in Food-Producing Animals
On May 21, 2021, EU published Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/808 on the performance of analytical methods for residues of pharmacologically active substances used in food-producing animals
The regulation contains the main text and two appendices. The main contents include: scope of use and term definitions, requirements for the methods used for sample testing, laboratory quality control regulations, result analysis, sampling requirements, etc.;
Annex 1 lists the detection accuracy requirements for various analysis methods;
Annex 2 specifies the official sampling procedures and processing methods for animal products.
This regulation replaces regulations 2002/657/EC and 98/179/EC and will take effect on the 20th of the publication of the EU Official Journal.
